specialties and you have a heap of bills to pay, all because
of dogs.
To me, it was all worth it. The satisfaction of having bred
several Best in show dogs, a National specialty winner
at the Pekingese Club of America, Top toy in Canada,
multiple American specialty winners, and being awarded
Pekingese Club of America Gold Level Breeder of Merit
for having bred 48 American champions and American
Kennel Club Silver Level Breeder of Merit is beyond compare.
For this year’s award, as with the one before it, we had fi nished
two Hall of Fame dogs and multiple Grand Champions with
multiple Best in show wins and placements, and many
Junior, Puppy and Baby Puppy in show wins.
So, what does it take to be a top breeder (according to the
article)? It takes consistency, producing quality dogs year
after year (check), having a readily distinguishable breed
type (check), internationally known kennel (check), exported
champions internationally (check) and contributing to
many breeding programs internationally (check).
