Believe In Dreams

Many dream of having their champions, and only a handful of those will shine
and become Best in Show Winners.
After my local multi- titled Poms, Prince and Margaux were in the Top Ten Dogs of
the Year and top Pomeranians for two consecutive years, we were not sure if the next top
Pom would fi t the mold.
Many never believed that a small, scruff y boy who was an ugly duckling as a puppy
would make it big. It was with a breeder mom’s own belief in knowing that he had it in him
that I showed and handled King David, believing in his excellent lines, and looking beyond his
sparse coat. His fi rst show in Cebu got him his fi rst taste of a BOB and a Group placement
from the classes. When I handled him again in another show, he won another BOB, Group
2, and a Best Philippine Born in Show under Judge Dr. Jose Mendiola. This started my team’s
focus on him when before, he was just an afterthought.
King David made his presence felt thereafter, consistently winning the Breed and
the Group. He also notched a Best in Show win, putting him 3rd top Pomeranian in his fi rst
months of showing, behind my homebred Margaux who was on top. The following year and
the next 2 years, he was ranked as top Pomeranian, and the top 4th, 5th, and 6th in the Dog
of the Year All Breed Rankings, a PCCI record.
I will never forget the Circuit Shows held at SM Megamall, where King David made
me and the entire Filipino audience proud by earning two highly coveted All Breed Best in
Show wins in a contest highly dominated by top canine entries from diff erent parts of the
globe. He won more than half the Breed competitions, Group placements, and Best Philippine
Born in Group and in Show wins. A local Pomeranian strutting his stuff and shining brightly
amidst the beautiful Goliaths!
It’s every breeder’s dream to produce a BIS winner. My King David did more than
make me the proudest Pom mommy. He’s also proving to be a very good producer, too.
