The woman in red shorts, with beautiful legs, is none other than the former PCCI President, Prof. Chuchi De Vega.
The gentleman on her left, is Mr. Kiko Kashiwagi.
How would you say would be the difference between the PCCI at the time that
you first became an officer and the PCCI at present?
Before, we used to spend our own money for dog shows and for entertainment of the judges. Dr. Mendiola was
very famous in spending his own funds for the club. Mr. Aramis Lim did the same.
Would you recall how big was the registration during that time?
I wouldn’t know. Maybe it’s just a few hundreds per year but we managed to invite judges from Australia. It was
Mr. & Mrs. Lim who used to invite judges from Australia.
You spent practically a lifetime with PCCI, What would you consider as the
highlights of your experience with the PCCI and the local dog world?
During my period as President. I had Mr. Michael Wirtz as Secretary. He was so professional in handling the club
records. It was a very fulfilling period. It was also the year that I became a widow. I was elected without my
knowledge, as nobody wanted to become President. I had very good members of the board who could donate
like Mr. Lopez and Mr. Ortigas. During those times, the club existed on donations. Every year I got re-elected as
President for 7 years as nobody wants to run as President. There was a time when Mr. Aramis Lim and Mr. Frankie
Gomez fought against each other in the PCCI office in Leon Guinto. Mr. Gomez was hitting Mr. Lim with a belt but
Mr. Lim was very strong, he held Mr. Gomez in the throat and Mr. Gomez was squeaking and dying. I can never
forget that afternoon.
