FROM THE EDIT OR’S DESK
T ime truly has a way of adjusting to people’s lifestyles: When people are not busy, time
seems to move so slowly while for busy people, it seems to speed up proportionately.
And so it was we find ourselves in the fourth quarter of 2019 and just about to release the
third quarter issue of our magazine when 2018 seems like a few days ago. Indeed, it has been a
flurry of activities for everyone at the PCCI during the third quarter: Two breed/canine seminars were
staged featuring two very knowledgeable international speakers, and numerous dog shows were
spread out all over the country that kept the show - going members and their wards busy almost
every weekend during the period.
Featured in this quarter is a very important document for all PCCI members. Crafted by the Ethics
Committee and recently approved by the Board of Directors, the PCCI Code of Ethics and Conduct
spells out the expectation of the Club as to how various personalities should conduct themselves
during PCCI events and when they find themselves in purebred dog/PCCI related situations. The
new Code covers all members and list down the expectations for specific groups like members,
officers, judges and exhibitors. It is a must read for all.
We also pay tribute to three long-time members of PCCI’s professional staff who have recently retired
after decades of dedicated service to the Club. These ladies have been part of, and contributed to
the growth of the PCCI immensely. The article that is included in this issue is but a small way that we
can reciprocate the loyalty that they have for the Club and the service that they have rendered to its
various members throughout their tenure.
